This adapter screws onto Series 5 thread and has a space to hold a drop in Series 5 filter, plus a slim retaining ring. A retaining ring is used to hold a threadless filter in place. This retaining ring is light and thin - yet strong, thread on one side. Effectively a stopper/ block for a retainer ring that is holding a threadless filter. Cokin Filter holder for 35mm cameras, requires Cokin adapter ring to attach, will then take Cokin A Series filters
