Description

Vintage Canon flash Unit X for rangefinder cameras.

In particular this flash was produced for the Canon IV, which was introduced in 1951.

A similar unit may be seen on p.103 of Professor Peter Dechert�s, �Canon Rangefinder Cameras 1933-68�.

Included in this outfit:

Leather carrying case with original key.

Main flash unit housing with micro-sync & battery cap.

7 inch reflector

Midget bulb adapter (size not specified maybe M3).

Aditional battery case.

Penlight battery cartridge

Self-extension adapter.

Extension cord 15 ft.

Flash tester.

Original instruction book (59 pages, in English 1950).

Original display tag (dated 1951).

Extra collector literature, one piece on Canon letterhead (see scans).

CONDITION:Very good overall, except for the collector literature. Inside lid which holds reflector and accessories, needs to be reglued. The previous owner was a smoker, and there remains a faint scent of smoke. We have not tested this unit but stand behind what we sell.
