The picture below gives you an idea of the Cokin filter system which allows you to use a professional filter system across a variety of lens just by changing your Cokin adapter ring.

The photo above

shows the actual filter holder.

This filter holder was modified through the removal of one of the bumps on the top/bottom portion of the filter holder. Compare the stock photo against the actual holder and you will see that one bump is gone. It may have interfered with previous owner's use and so he shaved it off.

This filter holder takes a Cokin Series A adapter ring that slips into one side of the holder so that you are able to screw it on your lens as you would any other screw-on accessory.

You are then able to mount Cokin A series filters and special effects accessories simply by slipping into slots provided.

This is an authentic Cokin piece. It has been adapted by the shaving off of the top edge for cleaner use.

Cokin Filter system A Series to be used with all 35mm SLR camera lenses with 36,39,40.5,41,43,43.5,44,46,48,52,54,58 and 62mm diameter filter thread and Hasselblad (R) mount. The square filters that fit this system are approximate 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches
