Authentic trade necklace from Ghana. This charming necklace is composed of pipestone (bauxite) beads, varying in size from approximately 15 to 20mm in size. The spacers are flat shell disks, with ceramic, wood and trade beads. The most exciting bead is an antique Venetian 6 layer chevron. This bead measures 18 X 19mm. The end beads are carved wood. The necklace measures 33 inches in length.

We acquired this necklace from the original owner, who bought it at a market in Ghana during the 1960’s. On the original white cotton string, and should be restrung before wearing. Weighs a hefty 14 ounces. A perfect display / museum piece!
