Beautiful Mexican modernist necklace, featuring a pendant with the famous Aztec Sunstone calendar.
  • The necklace is 19 inches in length, and is sterling silver inlaid with Abalone shell and black enamel.
  • The clasp is box style with positive locking.
  • The necklace was made in Taxco, and hallmarked on the back on the medallion.
  • The inscription reads 925 (sterling silver), TC-271 and Hecho En Mexico.
We do not know the identity of this jeweler. Only about 15 of the numbered Taxco silversmiths have been identified. However, it would have been made after 1979.

Fine craftsmanship, in very good condition, showing only light use related wear.

Original patina, acquired from a Santa Fe estate.
