Initiated in 1997 as a biennial presentation, the mission of the Mississippi Invitational is to reflect the current directions in the visual arts throughout the state at a given point in time. Selected by a guest curator from outside the region, the Invitational presents a fresh, unbiased look at recent work created by Mississippians.
