A beautiful vintage Navajo Sterling Silver and Turquoise necklace we were able to acquire recently from a Santa Fe estate, from the personal collection of a Canyon Road shop owner.

The necklace measures 25 inches in length and is composed of hand made melon and round beads. There are a total of 30 large green turquoise nuggets. The necklace is strung on waxed linen with a handmade clasp.
This type of necklace was popular during the 1950’s and 1960’s. It was probably made c. 1955-1960.
During the 1980’s because of silver speculation, many of these vintage silver necklaces were melted down for the silver content. Consequently there are not as many available for the collector. The necklace has been left with original patina, just as we received it. |
