Much English prose has been published since the war; some of it is emphemeral, much is of enduring interest. In this short critical survey an account is given of the most important work of the period.
It covers prose writing of all kinds, except fiction, which is dealt with elsewhere in this series. Mr.
Alan Pryce-Jones is a distinguished author, journalist and critic.
Born
in 1908, he was educated at Eton and Magdalen College, Oxford. His published works includes two travel books, a volume on Beethoven and a book of poems.
