Robert Bryden Etching The Spinner 1895 Etching on hand laid paper.

Image size 4.7 x 6.4 inches.

Signed and dated on the plate. Ready for you to mat. In excellent condition.

 Robert Bryden, Scotland, 1865 - 1939. Worked in an architects office, also taught art in London. Traveled 1894-1897 in Italy, Egypt and Spain. Awarded the title of Royal Engraver in 1899. He was an accomplished printmaker both in etching and wood engraving, also a painter and sculpture.

Paintings and works of art were often etched in order to create an acceptable reproduction to bind in a book and share with the global art market at the turn of the last century and before, either indicating a work for sale or an up and coming artist. The etching we offer is an original vintage print - not a modern reproduction.
