Willhelm Unger (1837-1932) was regarded as the premier interpreter of Rembrandt�s work. This is one of Willhelm Unger's most famous renderings of a Rembrandt painting, The Jewish Bride.

Image size 5.5 x 8 inches, tissue proof mounted on a larger sheet. Printed in warm black ink. Not signed. This was from a deluxe edition of Rembrandt�s work. Published c. 1885.

(Etching is the process of using strong acid to cut into the unprotected parts of a metal surface to create a design in intaglio in the metal . As an intaglio method of printmaking it is, along with engraving, the most important technique for old master prints, and remains widely used today)
